Esther worked in brand consulting for five years before she made a complete career shift into psychology. In May 2014, she graduated from Teachers College at Columbia University with a M.A. in Clinical Psychology. Esther served as the Director of Alumni Relations and VP of Events at the Columbia University Korean Graduate Student Association. Esther was raised in Kenya, Moscow, Seoul, Chicago, and New York. Her personal and research interests are in philanthropy, children’s character development, and parenthood. She received her B.S. in Business Administration at Boston University School of Management. Esther currently interns at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Esther loves ramen, and she hopes to make another career shift in her 60’s.
심리학으로 전과하기 전 브랜드 컨설팅에 5년간 종사했다. 2014년 5월, 콜럼비아대학교 교육대학원에서 임상심리학 석사 과정을 마쳤으며, 대학원 시절 한인학생회에서 동문관계 & 행사국장으로 활동했다.
케냐, 모스크바, 서울, 시카고, 그리고 뉴욕에서 자랐다. 그녀의 개인적 그리고 연구적 측면에서의 관심 분야는 박애, 아동의 성격 발달, 그리고 부모이다. 보스톤 대학교에서 경영학으로 학사를 취득했다.
현재 뉴욕 주 정신의학 연구소에서 인턴으로 근무 중이다. 라면을 무척 좋아한다. 그녀는 60대에 또 한번의 진로 변경을 희망한다.
Q: The first thing you do when you wake up?
A: (1) Throw my hands and legs up in the air (2) stretch my arms and legs while hoping I’ll grow a few centimeters in the process (3) Say hello to God.
Q: Wildest dream?
A: In all seriousness, marrying GD.
Q: Inspiration?
A: Children: their unfiltered opinions, their imagination, their smiles, their curiosity, and their capacity to love and believe.
Q: Biggest Challenge?
A: Living life to the fullest with the mindset that there might be no tomorrow so I should live today trying to become a better person, sharing, loving, laughing and forgiving.

A: 오늘이 마지막이 될수도 있다는, 그래서 오늘도 최선을 다해 성장하고, 나누고, 사랑하고, 웃고, 용서하는것.
