크로스로드 2017은 대학생과 젊은 직장인들이 다양한 산업 분야에 종사하는 숙련된 전문가들을 만나 배움의 시간을 갖는 자리입니다.

인생의 갈림길을 맞닥뜨려 갈팡질팡하는 시기에는 그 길을 벌써 걸어본 인생 선배들의 경험에서 우러난 조언 한마디가 무엇과도 바꿀 수 없는 소중한 자산이 될 수 있습니다.

그리하여 MOI’M과 컬럼비아대학교 대학원 총한인학생회(KGSA)가 손잡고 여러분이 인생의 전환기를 헤쳐나가는 데 도움이 되는 말씀을 해주실 기조연설자와 분야별 전문가들을 만나는 자리를 준비해 보았습니다.

At Crossroads 2017, university students and young professionals can gain experience from seasoned professionals of various fields. At a time in life where a fork in the road can seem daunting, the wisdom of those who walked down that path can be of invaluable worth. MOI’M has partnered with Columbia University Korean Graduate Student Association to connect you with keynote speakers and industry leaders who will be able to share their own experiences during this transition period.

HONG SEOK-CHEON (홍석천)

Actor, Entertainer, Entrepreneur and Restaurateur

Hong Seok-cheon (홍석천) is a multi-talented entrepreneur who is a veteran in the Korean entertainment industry with over 20 years of experience. Often appearing in various dramas, sitcoms, variety shows and talk shows, he established a prolific career. Not only in entertainment, but Hong is a successful businessman as he runs nine successful restaurants in the trendy neighborhood of Itaewon in Seoul. He is also very well known as a pioneer for the LGBTQ community in Korea and though he faced massive stigma, he continues to be an active advocate in the industry today.

KEO LEE

Manager, Netflix

Keo Lee is a Creative Executive for International Originals at Netflix and is involved in sourcing international content for the greater Netflix audience. Before joining Netflix, he was an executive at 3AD, Daniel Dae Kim’s film & television production company, and CJ Entertainment, one of Korea’s largest entertainment companies. Prior to CJ Entertainment, Keo was a production coordinator and assistant director based in Seoul. He is a graduate of Columbia University where he received a Bachelor’s in Film.

TIM JO

Actor, Pitch (2016), The Neighbors (2012), & Glory Daze (2010)

Tim Jo is an actor born and raised in Houston, Texas. As an Asian American actor pursuing his dream in Hollywood, his trials and successes were most recently seen on FOX’s baseball drama Pitch, playing Eliot Berger. Prior to that, Tim played the series regular roles of Reggie Jackson on ABC’s alien sitcom The Neighbors and Alex Chang on the TBS 80’s college comedy Glory Daze.

GRACE SUBERVI

Actor, Singer, TV Host

Panel Discussion Moderator

Grace Subervi is an actor, singer and TV host specialized in international music and entertainment. She is currently starring as the titular role in DramaFever’s first original scripted production, Oh My Grace. She has hosted and produced interviews with celebrities such as Lee Min Ho, Kim Woo Bin, Park Bo Young, BIGBANG, Girl’s Generation, Super Junior, and many more as VJ for MTV and host for FUSE and DramaFever. Through her love of traveling and cultures, Grace has also developed a passion for languages, speaking English, Spanish, Korean, and French.

THOMAS SOOHYUN KIM

President, Korean American Association of Queens New York

Thomas Soohyun Kim, a founder/general partner at the Law Offices of Kim & Cha, LLP, focuses his practice on personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, and real estate investment structuring and transactions. He has a J.D. from Syracuse University, College of Law; M.A. in Liberal Studies from New York University; and a B.A. in US Government from St. John’s University. Thomas has been elected to serve as the 26th President of the Korean American Association of Queens (KAAQ), as the President of the Korean American Youth Foundation (KAYF), and board member of the Korean American Lawyers Association of Greater New York (KALAGNY).

JEANA CHUNG

Co-Founder, Made Men & Former Director of Licensing, Camuto Group

Jeana Chung is a senior executive in fashion with expertise launching new brands, developing fashion apps/technology, and expanding storied brands across borders internationally. She is currently Co-Founder of Made Men and was Director of Licensing at the Camuto Group. Jeana is also an advisor for DEV, Redbadge, ERA, and Trendseeder – VCs, accelerators and incubators. Separately in the past couple years, she has been involved in the development of a Korean/US start-up acceleration program for two different VCs funded by the Korean government.

JAMES LEE

Co-Founder/Managing Partner, Parcrest Advisors LLC

James Lee is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Parcrest Advisors. In the past decade, he has successfully closed over 20 transactions, totaling approximately $18 billion in aggregate transaction value. Throughout his career, James has focused on sourcing, executing, and closing transactions in the automotive, consumer and technology industries. He graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry.

JINHA LEE

Co-Founder/Chief Product Officer, Spatial & Former Principal Designer, Head of Interaction Group, Samsung Electronics

Jinha Lee is Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Spatial, a software company reimagining how people collaborate through VR and AR technologies. He developed award-winning 3D user interfaces at MIT, Microsoft, Samsung, and showed them in his TED Talk. He also designed the first prototype of Bradley, an innovative tactile wristwatch for the blind, one of the most successful kickstarter projects in 2013. He was named as one of the top 35 innovators under 35 by MIT Technology Review, and 32 greatest living designers by FastCompany along with Elon Musk and Jonathan Ive in 2014. The World Economic Forum named Jinha as one of the young global leaders of 2015.

KHEE LEE

Chief Monetization Officer, Kiswe Mobile & Former Head of Agency Business Development, Google

Khee Lee originally pursued pharmacology in college, but after returning from a trip in Mexico post-graduation, he ventured into start-ups. He created two start-ups, ActiveHealth Management and Buzzskin, which were successfully sold and the next step in his career began at Google where he was the Head of National Healthcare Sales and eventually the Head of Agency Business Development. Managing some of the largest deals, Khee eventually left Google to rejoin the start-up world where he is now the Chief Monetization Officer at Kizwe Mobile.

SOEUN LEE

Deputy Director, International Chamber of Commerce, International Court of Arbitration

Soeun Lee is the Deputy Director of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration, SICANA Inc., New York. Prior to ICC, she practiced litigation and international arbitration in New York and was selected as New York Metro Super Lawyers Rising Stars for Business Litigation in 2015. Prior to her legal career, she was an active performing and recording artist in the Korean music industry since her debut in 1998.

SUOK NOH

Co-Chief Executive Officer, Inmost Partners LLC & Former Managing Director, Goldman Sachs

Suok Noh began his professional career as a Senior Engineer for Allied Signal Aerospace where he led the R&D team, receiving several patents for his creations. After a few years, Suok left aerospace engineering for Wall Street and spent the next 27 years at Goldman Sachs, starting out as a Mortgage Strategist and eventually as Managing Director of the Fixed Income Division. At Goldman Sachs, he spent the early part of his career structuring over $30 billion of asset-backed securities.
