In the late 1940s, Henri Matisse, known for his use of expressive color, turned to paper and scissors to introduce a radically new operation that came to be called the cut-out. The MoMA is currently exhibiting the largest and most extensive exhibition of Matisse’s cut-out art that you don’t want to miss.

You can rent a car and drive a few hours away from the city to see the fall-foliage, or just hop on the subway and see it in the city. The fall-foliage in the city is as beautiful as what you will find outside the city.

Places to see fall-foliage:

• Central Park in NYC - Head to Belvedere Castle in the center of the park for a great panoramic view of the park, head to the northern half of Central Park to avoid the crowds
• New York Botanical Garden (2900 Southern Blvd., Bronx - Explore over 50 acres of native forests and gardens, including over 30,000 trees. Take the famous tram to see the sites and even canoe along the Bronx River
• Van Cortlandt Park (Broadway and Jerome Ave., Bronx) - Walk on the John Kieran Nature Trail where you can see Van Cortlandt Park’s most beautiful and scenic route

• 뉴욕식물원 (2900 Southern Blvd., 브롱스) - 트램을 타고 50 에이커에 달하는 숲과 정원을 돌아본 뒤 브롱스 강을 따라 카누를 타보세요
• 밴코틀랜드 파크 (Broadway and Jerome Ave., 브롱스) - 존 키에란 트레일을 따라 트래킹을 하면 밴코틀랜드파크의 아름다운 경치를 볼 수 있습니다.
